Second meeting a further success

The second meeting of Seaham and District U3A was held on Wednesday 29th July 2015 and was again very successful with more than 50 members in attendance and 5 new members signing up.

This month our guest speaker was Catrina Flynn from St Benedicts Hospice. During her very interesting talk on the history of the hospice organisation, Catrina mentioned the coffee shop at St Benedicts Hospice saying that coffee is only £1 per cup. Two of our groups – the walkers and the strollers- said they intend to incorporate a visit to the coffee shop during one of their outings. They have been beaten to it! Some of the members went for a coffee following our meeting- hope they enjoyed it.

We look forward to welcoming our members back next month when the speaker will be Alan Brooks from the George Elmy Lifeboat.
