Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I attend a meeting to see what it is like?
A: Yes of course, you can attend up to two meetings before deciding whether or not to become a member. You will still need to pay for attending the meeting, currently £2 per meeting.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of groups I can join?
A: No there are no limits to joining interest groups, you can join as many or as few as you wish.
Q: What happens if I miss a meeting?
A: Meetings can be missed without this affecting your membership – as long as you attend a minimum of 4 meetings a year. However you may miss the opportunity to see one of our guest speakers, chatting to your fellow members as well as tea/coffee and biscuits.
Q: I am already a member of another U3A, can I still join?
A: We welcome all new members including members from other U3A’s. You will still need to pay an annual membership fee to join this U3A, however the price is £14 if you already have an active U3A subscription.
Q: What happens at the monthly meetings?
A: Each month we try to organise a speaker to deliver a talk to the group, there will be an opportunity to find out more about our many interest groups including important announcements and there is plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits for everyone to enjoy while having a chat.
