Last Wednesday, the Garden Outings Group enjoyed a delightful visit to Helmsley Walled Garden and Ampleforth Abbey. The weather was cool but pleasant and, thankfully, the rain kept away.
Although it is still early in the season, the gardens were already looking beautiful and offered a promising glimpse of the colour and abundance to come in the months ahead.

The Abbey provided a peaceful and welcoming setting, and the visit was perfectly rounded off with a relaxing stop in the cafeteria, for a hot drink and a well-earned piece of cake.
