The gardening outings group had a very pleasant visit to Howick Hall and Gardens last Wednesday, enjoying a very informative guide led tour around the house and gardens, even the weather was kind with the sun making a rare appearance and bathing us in warm spring sunshine….

We were given an interesting talk about the Howick Kneeler project inside the beautiful St Michael and all angels church which is situated in the grounds of Howick hall and we were able to see a display of the tapestry kneelers depicting the history and flora and fauna of Howick. The pictures were drawn by local artists and then sewn by local stitchers.

After indulging in snacks of delicious scones and cakes in the The Earl Grey Tea House we made our way to Craster to drink in the beautiful scenery and to give us the opportunity to purchase seafood in The Kipper Shop

The next trip for the Gardening Outings and Social group will be to Alnwick Gardens on Wednesday 7th June
there are still seats available if you would like to join us. 😊
