Striders Crimdon to the historic Headland walk Monday 7th February
9.30 at Crimdon was cold, cold, cold. The winter sun was bright and low so you had to pop your sunglasses on.
The walk to the Headland was uneventful. They are building lots of new homes along the coast, some with better sea views than others
Got to the Headlands and had a great cup of tea and a ham salad bun at the Headlands Café well worth a visit.
The history of the Hartlepool Headland is wide and varied .
The walk back took us over the golf course again but this time by a different route. The sandy path was perilously close to the edge of the cliff in places . The sand was Sahara soft so you could only climb using baby steps I had to channel my inner Florence of Arabia in places to reach the summit.
Then in the blink of an eye we were back
3 1/2 hours and 10 miles.
