The crochet group will be back next week after a long summer break. The group is open to anyone who would like to learn a new skill or for those who can crochet and would perhaps like some help with certain aspects, like reading and understanding patterns and charts, how to keep edges straight or learning new stitches, experts are also welcome to come and share their crochet knowledge. Or just come along for a relaxed crochet and natter session in a friendly supportive environment.
What beginners can expect to learn
- choose the right hook for yarn.
- hold the hook and yarn.
- make a chain, slip stitch, double and treble crochet stitches.
- make a traditional granny square.
- join granny squares.
- as well as understand basic crochet instructions.

Crochet hooks and yarn will be provided for those who would like to come along and give crochet a try, along with pattern books and magazines to flick through for inspiration.
