An Exploration of North East Traditional Plant Remedies

The workshop is being sponsored by Northumbria Region U3A and organised by the Northumbria Region Research Support Group

The ‘21st Century Northumbria Herbal’ Project was introduced at the ‘Enquiring Minds Event in November 2017. The objectives of this half-day workshop are:

  • To introduce/ remind attendees of aims and objectives of The Project and the results of the discussion groups at the ‘Enquiring Minds’ Event

  • Gain feedback and progress reports from U3As who attended the ‘Enquiring Minds’ Event

  • Discuss ‘starter ideas’ and resources for the 6 main project themes: 1. Plant recognition and botany, 2. Growing, harvesting and preserving medicinal plants, 3. Science and use of medicinal plants, 4. History and plant folklore, 5. Literature, art and culture and 6. IT
