Northumbria Region Event
Workshop on Facebook Privacy
Northumbria University will be running an interactive workshop for Northumbria U3A members focusing on Facebook privacy.
The workshop will be held Thursday 8th February 10:30 – 12:30 in the 4th floor of the Sandyford Building, 2 Sandyford Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QE.
The university have generously agreed to host this event at their cost, so there will not be any charge for the event.
The focus of the workshops will be to educate participants on important privacy topics in an interactive and fun way. Participants will take part in an exercise to help them better understand privacy on social networks, and will then be shown how to adjust the privacy controls on Facebook. No prior privacy or security knowledge is required, although having (or intending to create) a Facebook account is advisable.
This workshop will be delivered by the psychology team in PaCT Lab, Northumbria University and is funded by the EPSRC project Cyber Security Across the Lifespan.
Places are limited to 50 so that members can be split in to manageable smaller groups for the hands on tuition.
Places will be allocated on a first come basis. Once 50 have registered, a reserve list will be produced and if anyone drops out closer to the event, the reserve list registrations will be allocated a place in date order.
To register please email Mike Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org giving your Full Name (and partner if they are also attending) and U3A.
