Forensic science is the application of science to criminal and civil laws, mainly—on the criminal side—during criminal investigations.
Seaham and District U3A are holding a Forensic Science Day on the 15th May in Seaham Town Hall.
The cost for the day will be £15.00.
Names of the members who are interested in attending and the £15 can be paid at the next general meeting on the 29th March 2017.
The agenda for the day will be similar to this:
10.00 for 10.30 arrival and coffee.
10.30 to 11.45 session one – Dead Men Tell Tales. Clues from the grave, murder enquiry procedures (interactive in groups).
11.45 to 12.00 short break.
12.00 – 1.00 session 2 – Profiling the Killer. A look at psychological autopsies and profiling of serial killers (with practical sessions in groups).
1.00 – 2.00 lunch.
2.00 – 3.15 session 3 – The Pressure Is On. A look at the Maddy McCann case and an opportunity to take on the role of the police in a child abduction case. (Practical problem solving in groups).
