Membership Guide

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I attend a meeting to see what it is like?
A: Yes of course, you can attend up to two meetings before deciding whether or not to become a member. You will still need to pay for attending the meeting, currently £2 per meeting.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of groups I can join?
A: No there are no limits to joining interest groups, you can join as many or as few as you wish.

Q: What happens if I miss a meeting?
A: Meetings can be missed without this affecting your membership. However you may miss the opportunity to see one of our guest speakers, chatting to your fellow members as well as tea/coffee and biscuits.

Q: I am already a member of another u3a, can I still join?
A: We welcome all new members including members from other u3a’s. You will still need to pay an annual membership fee to join this u3a, however the price is £14 if you already have an active u3a subscription.

Q: What happens at the monthly meetings?
A: Each month we try to organise a speaker to deliver a talk to the group, there will be an opportunity to find out more about our many interest groups including important announcements and there is plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits for everyone to enjoy while having a chat.
