The Lunch Group sat down to the first meal outing of 2026 at The Fox and Tree. 

The beautifully cooked and very tasty dishes were absolutely delicious.

The three courses, for a very reasonable £20, were a welcoming lunch on a cold and wet day.

The dishes shown are pan roast chicken, pancetta and woodland mushrooms on truffle creamed potato followed by three desserts of sticky toffee pudding and vanilla bean ice cream, apple and caramel crumble with vanilla custard and lemon meringue tart with sweet cream and raspberries.

The last photos shows the happy eaters tucking into the tasty starters.

Finally Jan and I would like to thank all those who attended the December Christmas lunch at Valentino’s. Unknown to us there were three sneaky diners who moved amongst the other diners to make a collection.

We were presented today at The Fox and Tree with year passes to Historic Houses.

A big, big thank you to all of those who contributed to the totally unexpected surprise.
