We meet at Café 1838 @ Dalton Park. New members welcome.
Monthly Quiz – Last Monday of month. First one 26th January
1pm for 1.30pm start. Finishes at 3.30pm. Cost £2 + 50p for
tea/coffee. .
Lord of the Dance – Thursday 10th September @ 7.15pm
Tickets must be paid at the monthly meeting 28th January.
If tickets aren’t paid then I will have to return them to
Sunderland Empire.
Cost is £67.

🎭 Outline of the Story — Moulin Rouge! The Musical
A passionate, high‐stakes love story set in 1899 Paris, where a
young writer falls for a dazzling nightclub star — and their
romance threatens the future of the Moulin Rouge itself.
🌟 Setting
Paris, Montmartre, 1899 — the bohemian heart of the city.
The Moulin Rouge cabaret is glamorous, chaotic, and financially
collapsing.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows Christian, a young idealistic
composer, who falls in love with Satine, the star performer at
the Moulin Rouge.
The club is on the brink of collapse, and its owner makes a deal
with a wealthy but dangerous Duke, who expects Satine’s
devotion in return for saving the theatre.
Christian and Satine begin a secret romance.
Main Characters
Christian — an idealistic young American composer who
believes deeply in Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and Love.
Satine — the “Sparkling Diamond,” star courtesan of the Moulin
Rouge.
Harold Zidler — the flamboyant owner of the club, desperate to
save it.
The Duke of Monroth — a wealthy, controlling aristocrat who
wants Satine for himself.
Toulouse-Lautrec & Santiago — Christian’s bohemian friends
and collaborators.
