This weekend has been all about poppy displays for our u3a!
Our wonderful crafting groups — Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, and the Hobby Hub — have been beavering away for months, creating hundreds of poppies to bring these beautiful displays to life.

Here is the first of them, made with fabric poppies by our very talented Sewing Group.

Look out later today for the second display — it’s another beautiful tribute you won’t want to miss.

Hello everyone,

Over the summer months as well as our charity work for Macmillan and NHAP (Needles Hooks Angels and Preemies), our Sewing & Embroidery Group have been busy making poppies.

These were assembled onto frames and have been installed at Seaham Railway Station.

A big thank you to all the Group members for all their hard work. An extra thank you  for  Iris who sourced the waterproof material and to Diane for organising the installation.
