1. Raby Castle Visit

This visit is planned for 4th September. We already have the minimum number required for this group visit but places are still available. 2. Durham Cathedral Visit

This event is on 15th September. Details are on the website. Please be advised that the cut-off date for registering for this event is 25th August.

3. Next Northern Quiz

This will be on 15th October at Sunniside Club. Many details are the similar to the previous quiz, but we have moved the time forward to 1pm to 4pm to help avoid ‘rush-hour’ traffic.

The Quiz will have 3 rounds: General Knowledge, Picture and Music. (No pointless questions). There will be Prizes and we would also like each u3a to bring a home-baked cake or Savoury to share, if possible. Any u3a can send as many teams of four (or less) as they wish, but no spectators or supporters as we would like them to also form teams and join in.

The entrance fee will be £10 per team. Details about how to pay this are on the website.

4. Use of Social Media to Grow Awareness (Facebook)

Sheila Crawley, of Ashbourne & District u3a, recently gave a presentation to Northumbria u3a titled “Strategic Use of Social Media to Grow Awareness”.
She has kindly given us the content in pdf format, readable/downloadable from the News page of the website.

Any u3a that is considering starting to use Facebook, or other social media, might like to study the document. u3as that already use social media might like to view the information for tips on how to optimise its use.
