Garden Outings Group Making A Difference

Members of the u3a Garden Outings Group have recently teamed up with the local council to transform a small plot of land at the end of North Terrace behind the pit wheel. This collaborative effort aims to enhance the local environment and foster a sense of community pride.

Under the guidance of seasoned gardeners from the u3a, members of the group have dedicated their time and expertise to planning and helping to plant a diverse array of Perennials. Plants have been chosen that will thrive in the local climate and promote biodiversity.

Council representatives have praised the initiative, highlighting how the plot will serve as a welcoming green space for residents to enjoy. This newly planted plot is set to flourish, offering beauty and tranquillity for years to come.

Permission has also been sought to paint the Pit Wheel and replenish the gravel around it’s base.
