At this months History group we were visited by Diane Rowe who gave us a talk on the history of Hawthorn. There was a good turn out to listen to her. Diane provided us with loads of information throughout her talk and lots of humour. She also provided plenty of visual information as well as information packs. Diane certainly knows the history of Hawthorn village where she lived for many years and where her parents still live. Many will remember her parents who ran the Stapylton Arms for over 19 years.
Many thanks to Diane who is a member of Seaham and District u3a. It was a very interesting talk and a great insight to the village of Hawthorn.
