Angel Hearts

A display of 68 pairs of hearts made by members of the Crochet Group last month.
These were made for ‘Hearts Healing Hearts’ a branch of NHAP (Needles, Hooks Angels and Preemies)

NHAP is a group of people who knit, crochet and sew angel and preemie items to be donated to hospitals and families of angel and preemie babies. Currently they send to 240 hospitals in the UK, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
They also send out rainbow baby packs this is a baby born after the loss of a baby. These go to hospitals and can be requested.
They also support various children’s hospitals, children and adults with cancer, the homeless, dementia patients, the autistic, children and adults with brain injuries.

Why hearts?
Hearts are sent to various ICUs in hospitals, hospices, care homes and undertakers across the UK. One is to be given to end-of-life patients and the other to the patient’s family to keep this enables them to feel close to their loved ones.

The need for hearts is on going and the group set up a challenge for fun each month, for June they are looking for hearts in any colour (not dark) they should be made in pairs. I have attached a pattern in Knit and Crochet (or you can use your own pattern), if anyone would like to join in please do. 😊

Hand in your finished hearts at the crochet information board at any monthly meeting.
