1. Quarterly Meeting – Hylton Castle Tuesday 24th October

A few years ago, Hylton Castle was a derelict shell. It has been sensitively restored by English Heritage and the interior now contains 2 meeting rooms in addition to other castle features. If you have never seen the inside of the castle then it is worth coming to the meeting just for this! Attendance and coffee £2, with lunch £8.

3. New Trustee

By the time that you read this email Sandi Rickerby will have retired as Regional Trustee and have been replaced by Jean Cubbin from Whitley Bay u3a. However, Sandi will still be involved with many u3a activities so we will continue to hear from her in future.

Royal Navy Museum Hartlepool

A one day event is planned on Friday 15th March 2024.

u3a Festival 24, York University 18th-20th July 2024

Musicians are wanted to play for a live audience at the u3a Festival 24, York University 18th-20th July 2024. We are looking for groups of musicians, any genre and for single performers.

‘The Fighting Temeraire’ by J.M.W. Turner

A Turner exhibition at the Laing Art Gallery will include The Fighting Temeraire
There will be a u3a visit sometime between 10th May and 7th September.
