Garden Outing to Beningbrough Hall and Gardens Wednesday 5th July
The July Garden Group Outing is to Beningbrough Hall and Gardens which is in North Yorkshire. Beningbrough is surrounded by parkland, with riverside and woodland walks on all sides. The view of the hall as you turn on to the long drives evokes images of an intriguing past. The garden consists of an 8-acre formal garden with spring bulbs, herbaceous borders, historic trees, and a walled garden full of fruit blossom. The garden at Beningbrough is currently undergoing a renaissance by award winning Landscape Designer Andy Sturgeon – the Pergola and plans for the new Mediterranean Garden is particularly impressive! The hall and art gallery have recently been closed for a £2.3 million infrastructure project. The historic rooms on the ground floor are due to re-open on the 1st July just prior to our planned visit. The walled garden restaurant serves up a wide range of food and drinks . You can also visit the stables shop, where you will find a huge selection of products inspired by National Trust.
32 places are available on two mini buses. Departure time is 10 am from behind Costa Coffee, Seaham Harbour. The cost of the outing is £26 – this includes entrance into the hall and gardens and transport. National Trust members will have free entrance into the hall and gardens and would only pay £14.50 for transport. Names and a non- refundable £5 deposit or pay in full at the next monthly meeting on the 31st May.
